What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui (pronounced Fung Shway) meaning Wind and Water is the ancient Chinese art of placement. Water and wind (breath) flows through all living things, this flow of energy or life-force is called ch’i. Ch’i animates all living things and circulates throughout the spaces we occupy, without ch’i, as without breath, there would be no life. Feng Shui is the art of designing environments that enhance this flow of energy.

Can Feng Shui help me?

Ch’i can be positive, negative or stagnant. Homes or offices may have areas where ch’i is blocked, non-existent or even overwhelming those living there. To have a happy and harmonious home ch’i should flow like a babbling brook throughout a space supporting and energizing everything in its path. A Feng Shui consultant can help you to clear and activate the path of ch’i in your home or office. Making small changes and applying simple Feng Shui techniques can often have a positive impact in your life. The best candidates for Feng Shui are open-minded and have specific issues in their life that they wish to explore and work on.

What should I expect during a consultation?

There are three main Feng Shui tools or assessments I use during the visit. The first is the path of ch’i. How does the ch’i flow - are there blocks or stagnant areas that may be affecting the household? Secondly, a review of the five elements and yin and yang throughout the space - are the elements balanced or is something missing that could be affecting an area of your life or work? This review often works in conjunction with the Bagua Map. With the aid of the Bagua Map I will map out your home looking at areas such as wealth, career, health and love. Often a client is unaware that there may be issues in an area of the home and that it may be directly affecting their lives. The benefits and cures of Feng Shui that I recommend are practical and simple.
